The Diamond Center will kick off 2012 right with some of our favorite Richmond bands, shoegazery pop act The Snowy Owls and proto-neo-post-punk-wavers White Laces. And guess what? It’s free, like your mom. Come out and have a drink with the label kids.
We’re back, just like that case of the clap we caught from your mom. Except unlike your mom, we’re off the meth, high on life and have finally gotten our collective shit together.
New people, new music, new news coming soon. Like, tomorrow. Seriously, this time.

No, seriously. The label is still alive and kicking, but we’re going to put our shit on lockdown until around August or September or so. We’ll see you soon!

Okay, so it’s not officially a new release or anything, but we finally got around to posting the art that Diamond Center bassist Will Godwin created for the Caraway / 20Twin Special Edition. Look at that! I mean, just look at that! That shit is gorgeous. You want to marry that picture and have beautiful screen-print babies with it. Yes, yes you do.
AHEM. IN ANY CASE, if you haven’t gotten around to ordering the 7″, then we want you to know that you are a source of unending disappointment to your mother. What are you doing? Get off your ass and git! Order the standard edition for $5.00 here, or the special edition for $10.00 here.
We’re absolutely thrilled to present Lobo Marino’s latest release, The Reincarnation EP 7″. It’s pressed on standard 40g black vinyl with a pink marble swirl, and it’s full of joyous, charming and quietly epic post-folk. You want to take a listen to this. And while we’d love to ship this out to you, the kids are on the road right now embarking on a wild coast-to-coast tour, so you should see them if you get the chance and pick it up in person. Tell them Richmond says hello, and that we miss them terribly.
The Diamond Center is hitting no less than 5 dates during SXSW, kids. If you haven’t checked out their very particular brand of face-melting neo-psychedelia, then you have absolutely no excuse to miss them this time. And hey, as long as you’re here, why don’t you go ahead and put in a pre-order for their upcoming 7″? BECAUSE YOU WILL FUCKING LOVE IT. YOU WILL LOVE IT LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER LOVED BEFORE. GO FORTH, MY SONS, GO FORTH!

03/18 – Austin TX @ Rusty Spurs (Knitting Factory Official Showcase, 8:30pm)

Yes, we know. It’s been a little over three months since the website broke, but we’ve finally gotten around to fixing it. All the pages have content on them, the store is up and functional, and we’re even taking pre-orders for the upcoming Diamond Center 7″, which should be released in early to mid-April.
What can we say? This is what happens when you get a bunch of slacker musicians working on a record label. WE PROCRASTINATE OKAY AND WE HAVE OTHER JOBS THAT ACTUALLY PAY US MONEY TO KEEP UP WITH SO YOU KNOW JUST BACK OFF YOU’RE NOT OUR DAD

We’re pretty sure we did something stupid and broke the website. It’ll be back up and running in a few more days, once Joon finds the time to fix the damn thing. Most of the links do not work.
In any case, you’re most likely here because of our recent compilation release, The Scene That Immolates Itself. Mosey on over to this little temporary, hastily scraped-together page for downloads and whatnot.

So it appears that, while we weren’t looking, we inadvertently started a record label of sorts. With actual musicians. And actual planned releases, on which we foresee losing a metric fuck-ton of money.
Trust us–we’re as surprised as everyone else. We didn’t really expect to be here, and we don’t know how long the ride will last. But maybe something beautiful will come out of it, huh? Let’s enjoy it while we can.
